Sanjay shares his ‘dream-come-true’ moment

Sanjay Dutt always wanted to be like his father as he was very close to his father. He wanted to do the role which his father once did in his films and it is now when Sanjay has struck the opportunity in the upcoming ‘Son of Sardar’.

Sanjay had the plan of remaking his father’s immortal drama flick ‘Mujhe Jeene Do’. But now Sanjay has incorporated his dream in Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Son Of Sardar’. He will be seen in the character which once his father Sunil Dutt played in ‘Mujhe Jeene Do’.

A source said, “It wasn't the original plan to cast Sanju as a replica of his dad from ‘Mujhe Jeene Do’. When Sanju signed on for SOS he didn't even know what his role was”. Sanjay just accepted the film blindly for his pal Ajay. But after that it was Ajay who was awed by ‘Agneepath’ film’s success and suggested a special makeover for his pal Sanju to director Ashwin Dheer.

Various looks were being discussed for Sanju when he suggested his dad’s ‘Mujhe Jeene Do’ look which he was very fascinated about since his childhood. When finally it was decided that Sanju will resemble his father in ‘SOS’ and that he will play Sonakshi Sinha’s over-possessive brother he felt as if his most awaited dream is being fulfilled and he got very emotional. It is not for the first time that Sanjay has tried to be like his father. In 1980s Sanjay Dutt did ‘Jeene Do’ which was a straight homage to his dad’s but he felt that he was too young to carry it off.

Ashwin Dheer appreciatively says, "Now is the time when Mr Dutt is discovering the wonder that was his father and is able to convey his deep admiration in his performance." Dutt has a hand-to-hand fist-to-fist combat with Devgn at the climax of SOS where again Sunil Dutt's personality is fully visible.

We wonder how Sanjay will carry it off now, when he is old enough and all set for imitating his dad.
