Earlier, there were rumours of Kat being almost finalized for the role. It was Kat who was considered to play Big B’s love interest in the film but now all that was apparently just an illusion.

Sudhir Mishra has already signed Chitrangda to play the female lead in the flick. This hottie who played a sexy Economics teacher in her latest film, Desi Boyz will romance Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor in the film.

It is also heard that Sudhir always wanted to cast Chitrangda for the role but because of her busy schedule, his choice took a backseat. But now, since she has agreed upon doing the role, we will see Chitrangda in a completely different avatar. She will be seen portraying the character of an old woman in her 60s along with the regular look of a girl in her 20s.

Mehrunissa will be Chitrangda's third film with director Sudhir Mishra after Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Yeh Saali Zindagi.

Mehrunissa is the story of an actress of the 70s and her journey in the industry from the age of 20 to the present age when she is 62. The film is jointly produced by Sudhir Mishra, Nikhil Advani and DAR Motion Pictures.
